Intelligent Asset Management (IAM)

In this digital age, data is like oxygen – crucial for survival and prosperity.

IAM has revolutionised how our customers use their assets as we harness the power of data.

We connect ships to shore securely with Data Management, and also offer Energy Management and Health Management on a common platform to enhance revenue generation and predictability, reduce risk and support environmental compliance.

IAM improves performance at both micro (ship) and macro (fleet) level, delivering extensive information to crew and management and allowing better control of operations.

Our Intelligent Analytics Centre processes and transforms vast volumes of raw data into meaningful customer insight. Our data and products experts also work closely together, offering unparalleled analysis and guidance to enhance operations. Our end vision is to bring 'total business optimisation' to the entire logistics chain.

Enhancing awareness for informed operational efficiency

Our EM hardware and software solution helps promote an evidence-based, data-driven culture of continuous improvement for new build or existing vessels. It helps improve crew awareness, supports environmental reporting, and reduces energy usage, fuel consumption, emissions and operating costs.

How does it work?
With data collected from a range of ship control systems and equipment sensors, EM reduces energy consumption, supports environmental compliance and allows the benchmarking of efficiency against historical performance.

Real-time data is stored in a database, along with information from other sensors or systems not part of the standard offering. Selected info such as fuel consumption is benchmarked against a baseline and displayed graphically. This valuable insight means the crew can act to optimise operations.

The data is securely transmitted onshore for more detailed analysis. Our cloud-based portal then enables the comparison of performance data with historical benchmarks, enabling a data-driven performance management and decision-making approach.

Environmental Reporting Compliance
EM has been designed to help ship owners meet the EU's mandatory Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV) regulation. It's also future-proofed to meet anticipated global requirements.

Data security
Because security is important to us, we have invested heavily in a layered security model and state-of-the-art encryption, and have a 24/7 security centre on-hand.

Expert in the Loop
In addition to on-board and on-shore capabilities, customers also have access to 24/7 support. An added option is our advanced analytics consultancy service, Expert in the Loop, which enables deeper insight of vessels and operations. This includes custom data reports, trend analysis and operational improvement advice.

Maximizing availability of your assets, maintaining reliability of your operations.

This pioneering hardware and software solution aims to reduce a vessel's asset ownership costs by monitoring and analysing equipment data. It alerts customers to imminent issues, enabling them to perform predictive maintenance and operate more safely and efficiently.

The system comprises a user-friendly on-board display, plus an online portal for fleet managers to compare equipment health at a click of the button. At its heart is advanced machine learning, which helps the system become smarter, more powerful and accurate as further data is analysed.

Remote and Autonomous Operations

We're now building on our proven track record to offer increasing degrees of automation to support remote and autonomous solution development.

Our Research & Development Centre for Autonomous Ships allows us to carry out navigation projects and develop land-based control centres and the use of AI in future remote and autonomous shipping operations.

We believe remote and autonomous ships will be safer, more efficient and cheaper to build and operate. Our solutions will reduce human-machine interaction by automating tasks and processes, while keeping the human at the centre of critical decision-making.

Intelligent Awareness (IA)

Our advisory system is revolutionising safety at sea and is the first commercially available product from our Remote & Autonomous portfolio. Using intelligent sensor data fusion, it enhances situational awareness, enabling safer operation in challenging environments and improving operational efficiency.

It's designed to mitigate against navigator risk and is particularly useful when operating vessels at night, in adverse weather conditions, congested waterways or when docking or undocking.

Ship Intelligence - Pushing the boundaries of technology

Digitalisation is set to revolutionise the marine industry, including ship design, operations, management and business models. Ship Intelligence is our part in this revolution. Its family of products, solutions and services is split into two parts – Intelligent Asset Management and Remote & Autonomous.

In recent years, we have invested heavily in these solutions, establishing our Intelligent Analytics Centre in Norway and our Research & Development Centre for Autonomous Ships in Finland. Expanding our partnerships, research collaborations and business networks has also been an important part of our strategy.

Today, Ship Intelligence is already delivering multifaceted enhancements in vessel performance, operation and safety, and will continue to play a role in redefining the industry as we move towards a more remote and autonomous world.

Such operations offer opportunities to reduce cost and increase revenue. And our unrivalled expertise and equipment knowledge makes us an ideal partner to transform today's vessels for tomorrow's needs.
